For 10th Grade World History Teachers
This institute is held in partnership Cal State Los Angeles’ Latin American Studies Department.
This three-day workshop will explore topics related to Latin American history and the ways that the History-Social Science Framework addresses them. The topics being explored by this workshop are the Mexican Revolution, Caribbean Resistance to Imperialism/ Colonialism, and Central America during the Cold War. Through talks from scholars and model lessons teachers will explore these histories with a focus on multiple perspectives and learn how they can incorporate these ideas into their classrooms.
