Basic Skills/CBEST Requirement Update
On June 29, 2024, Governor Newsom signed a budget trailer bill, SB 153 (Chap. 38, Statutes of 2024), that allows candidates to use their bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution of higher education as demonstration of the basic skills requirement effective immediately.
Please visit the Basic Skills/CBEST page for more information. If you are an international candidate, you will still need to demonstrate that you have met the Basic Skills requirement.
These programs are for UCLA undergraduates and each application process is outlined by the Mathematics and Science Departments.
Please see the Joint Mathematics Education Program and the Science Teacher Education Program pages for full application materials.
