  • Amanda Ebel, Cohort 7, received School Leader of the Year as Principal of Connections Academy. She also received the Field of Distance Learning Award given by the United States Distance Learning Association.

  • Anthony Yom, Cohort 9, was featured in two articles in the LA Times since all of his students passed the AP Calculus exam. One of his students was among 12 in the world to complete the AP Calculus exam with a perfect score. Anthony works at Lincoln High School in the Los Angeles Unified School District.

  • Osvaldo Avelar, Cohort 9, was accepted into the USC PhD program. He was also selected to work with the UCLA Nano Science Institute to implement Next Generation of Science Standards at the elementary level (currently conducting crosscutting concepts in science that integrates Biology and Engineering). He is also common core PD teacher leader Miramonte Elementary School in the Los Angeles Unified School District and a master science teacher fellow for the LAUSD- CSDH partnership.
