During this 3-day workshop, we will focus on the development of children’s mathematical thinking in the early education classroom (3-5 years old). We will explore how children’s understanding of counting, problem solving, and spatial reasoning develop. Participants will understand the power of using this knowledge to notice what children say and do and to make instructional decisions that build and extend their thinking. This course will draw on ideas presented in Young Children’s Mathematics and is recommended for all educators in the early education setting.
