Music as Activism: A Hands-on Workshop

UCLA History-Geography Project

Join us and Dr. Martha Gonzalez, a Chicana artivista {artist/activist) musician, feminist music theorist and Assistant Professor in the Intercollegiate Department of Chicana/o Latina/o Studies at Scripps Colleges as she discusses the collective songwriting process and engages participants in the process. When practiced in community, songwriting can be a powerful exercise in collective knowledge production.

For K-12 teachers

No musical experience is needed to participate in this Interactive workshop.

Saturday, March 11, 2017  9am – 12:30pm at LA Plaza de Culture y Arte (downtown)

Fee: $30

The $30 registration fee covers materials, parking  and continental breakfast.
