  • Summer Science Scholars – Renewable Energy (For Students Entering Grade 9)

    Campers will explore how energy shapes our daily lives, health, and opportunities in communities. Using hands-on investigations and local examples from Los Angeles, they will uncover how electricity is produced, why some neighborhoods face higher energy costs, and how renewable energy can create fairer, cleaner futures.

  • Unlocking Literacy: Improving Reading, Writing Skills for Multilingual/ELD Students (Grades 6-12)

    What happens when we offer students opportunities to identify with literature studied in our classrooms as well as windows for learning about the world around them? With a focus on multilingual learners, collaborative model lessons and discourse, participants will be able to walk away from this workshop with sample lessons of rigorous and exciting texts that support analytical reading, writing and discourse.
