The conference will showcase the work of districts that have experienced the (De)Normalizing Literature professional development, sessions by teacher experts, and words of wisdom from experts in literacy and culturally
responsive practices.
The invitational leadership institute is an opportunity for strong instructional leaders to continue their professional learning while being a member of a Statewide professional learning and development organization. We invite you to join other educators from various districts as we continue to learn and fine-tune our profession.
Session 2 will include an overview of “the reading brain” and the reading circuit and how these develop over time, as well as strategies and resources that parents and caregivers can use to support reading fluency and literacy development at home.
Session 3 will discuss the development of the reading brain and will provide a platform for understanding how a new and expanded conceptualization of foundational skills, fluency, and deep reading processes expands practice in the teaching of reading.
