Dive into the world of water!
Campers will investigate where our water comes from, what makes it safe to drink, and explore how to make clean water available for everyone. Through experiments, fun investigations, and real examples from California, campers discover how water connects to our health, communities, and the environment—and how people can work together to protect this essential resource.
Breathe in science!
Campers will explore the invisible world of air and learn how pollution affects our health and communities. Through hands-on experiments and real-life examples from California, they will find out what makes air dirty, how scientists measure it, why wildfire smoke and pollution hit some areas harder than others, and why everyone deserves clean air.
Discover the journey of your food!
Campers will explore where our food comes from, why some neighborhoods have plenty while others struggle, and what happens when food is thrown away. Through hands-on investigations and real-life examples from California, they will learn how food systems, waste, and access affect people, communities, and the planet—and how creative solutions can make food fairer and more sustainable.
Explore the ocean up close!
Campers will investigate coastal and marine systems and discover how land, ocean, and human activity are connected. Through hands-on models and real examples from California, they will see how pollution, climate change, and resource use affect ocean health and marine life. Campers will learn how smart choices and teamwork can protect our coasts—for both people and wildlife.
Be an energy hero!
Campers will explore how energy shapes our daily lives, health, and opportunities in communities. Using hands-on investigations and local examples from Los Angeles, they will uncover how electricity is produced, why some neighborhoods face higher energy costs, and how renewable energy can create fairer, cleaner futures. Campers will discover how science, engineering, and leadership can work together to power real change.
