Pathways Offered by Subject
If your goal is to become a teacher, the Teacher Education Program offers several academic program pathways that culminate in a Teaching Credential and/or Master of Education degree.
If you are already a teacher, there are two programs available to further your education: Master of Education in Urban Teaching and Lead Teacher Certification.
Early Childhood Education
Candidates in the Teacher Education Program can earn a multiple-subject credential to teach Early Childhood Education in this pathway:
Elementary
Candidates in the Teacher Education Program can earn a multiple-subject credential to teach Elementary in these pathways:
English
Candidates in the Teacher Education Program can earn a single-subject credential to teach secondary (grade 7-12) English in this pathway:
Mathematics
Candidates in the Teacher Education Program can earn a single-subject credential to teach secondary (grade 7-12) Mathematics in these pathways:
- Core Two Year Graduate Program
- IMPACT Graduate Program
- Joint Mathematics/Education Program (JMEP) - begin as an Undergraduate
- TeachLA Credential Program
Music
Candidates in the Teacher Education Program can earn a credential to teach Music in this pathway:
- Joint Music/Education Program - begin as an Undergraduate
Science
Candidates in the Teacher Education Program can earn a single-subject credential to teach secondary (grade 7-12) Science in these pathways:
- Core Two Year Graduate Program
- IMPACT Graduate Program
- Science Teacher Education Program (STEP) - begin as an Undergraduate
- TeachLA Credential Program
