Center X and the Partnership for Los Angeles Schools

Center X and the Partnership for Los Angeles Schools are currently working together to support fifteen Los Angeles Schools in East and South Los Angeles. Center X supports the schools in these areas:

 

  • Instructional Coaches – Professional Learning Partners (PLPs) –UCLA Center X supports teacher professional learning and growth through instructional coaching support with the intent to build self-directed, resourceful, and effective educators.

  • CPEC – ITQ-608 Grant – Through the California Postsecondary Education Commission – CPEC – UCLA Center X and PLAS were awarded a four year professional development grant to work with science and social studies teachers at two PLAS middle schools.

  • National Board Cohorts – UCLA Center X offers PLAS teachers the opportunity to participate in a grant awarded to the UCLA NBPTS Project to establish a Professional Teaching Development Center (PTDC). 

  • Summer Content and Leadership Institutes – UCLA Center X partners with PLAS to organize, present, and co-sponsor, summer learning opportunities for PLAS teachers.

  • Cognitive Coaching℠, Adaptive School Trainings and other Center X Professional Development

  • UCLA Parent Project and the FACE Team at PLAS - The UCLA Parent Project in Center X partners with the Family and Community Engagement (FACE) Team at PLAS to provide workshops for teachers, parents, and students together.
