UCLA Community School
UCLA, the Graduate School of Education and Information Studies, and Center X are working closely with Los Angeles Unified School District, United Teachers Los Angeles, and several community-based organizations to create a new innovative school. The UCLA Community School opened this September (2009). It is currently serving students in Kindergarten to Grade 5 and will expand the following year to include approximately 800 students in Kindergarten through Grade 12. This neighborhood school will be one of six Pilot Schools located at the new LAUSD Ambassador Schools Complex in Central Los Angeles.
