The Region XI Algebra Forum and the California Mathematics Project are pleased to offer a three-day mathematics workshop for grades K-5 and 6-12 mathematics teachers, coaches and mathematics leaders. These Professional development sessions provide participants with effective strategies for promoting listening, speaking, reading and writing standard-based elementary and secondary mathematics with English Learners through a proved, data-driven district model of on-going professional development, coaching and structured reflection of implementation outcomes. Explicit connections are made to the California Common Core State Standards in Mathematics.

Each institute is limited to 25 participants so please apply early!

Teachers of Grades K-5: June 24-26

Teachers of Grades 6-12: July 1-3


Location: California State University, Los Angeles

Requirements

  • Teaching mathematics grades K-5 and 6-12

Area of Focus

  • Analyze student mathematics learning data
  • Explore differentiated strategies
  • Problem solving strategies
  • Lesson planning tools

Participants will

  • Attend three-day institute
  • Receive a CD with research-based strategies
  • PowerPoint presentations
  • Collaborate with other mathematics leaders and presenters.

Cost: $275
