California Basic Educational Skills Test (CBEST): Candidates must have passed all sections of the CBEST.

Official Transcripts: Candidates must submit evidence of successful completion of appropriate undergraduate coursework.

Subject Matter Proficiency: Candidates must submit evidence of competency in subject matter areas through one of the following:

• Passage of the Multiple Subject Assessment for Teachers (CSET) for elementary applicants.
• Passage of the Single Subject CSET exam for secondary applicants.
• Institutional verification of a completed subject matter preparation program or its equivalent for Single Subject only–subject matter waiver.
